Nominations are now being accepted for the 2026 Anna Marie and Joseph Karaffa Award for Excellence in Education. Anna Marie and Joe both served the Toronto City Schools for many years. This annual award was established in 1997 in honor of their 50th wedding anniversary and recognizes the efforts of an outstanding teacher or administrator, currently with the Toronto City Schools, who creates an environment where teaching and learning are valued. Twenty-seven teachers and administrators have received this award since it was established.
Nominations are encouraged from students, teachers, parents, and alumni.
The nomination deadline for the award is April 17, 2026.
The recipient will be announced before the end of the current school year.
