Toronto Jr.-Sr. High School students are diving into an exciting summer adventure at Belmont College’s GRIT Boot Camp! This three-week, hands-on program—sponsored by Belmont College and GRIT (Growing Rural Independence Together)—is designed to jumpstart careers and empower both upcoming and graduating seniors with real-world skills in high-demand industries.
Participants are getting behind the controls in Drone Technology, where they train on simulators and receive expert instruction from a retired Blackhawk pilot, all while working toward their FAA Part 107 UAV License. In HVAC/R, students are mastering the essential skills needed to keep homes and businesses running, learning the ins and outs of heating, ventilation, air conditioning, and refrigeration systems. Welding Technology offers the chance to spark creativity and precision through hands-on training with the tools and techniques used in industrial welding. And in Heavy Equipment Technician class, students roll up their sleeves to learn how to maintain and repair the powerful machines that keep our world moving.
This is more than a camp. It's a launch pad into the future!
