This morning, students and staff gathered at the flagpole in front of Toronto Jr/Sr High School to participate in “See You at the Pole”, a global day of student prayer.
Organized by leaders Mrs. Mosti and Mr. Durand, the Fellowship of Christian Athletes (FCA), is a powerful event brought together hearts and voices in unity to pray for our school, community, nation, and world. 🌍❤️
It was an incredible morning of faith, fellowship, and hope as students took the lead in lifting up their peers, teachers, and leaders in prayer. Thank you to everyone who came out to support and participate in this meaningful tradition!

Welcome Math teacher Racheal Kline!
We’re excited to welcome Racheal Kline to our math department this year! A graduate of Franciscan University of Steubenville, Mrs. Kline holds a BS in Education with concentrations in Grades 4–9 Math and Science, and K–12 Reading. Mrs. Kline comes to us from Wellsville Local Schools, where she taught Junior High Math and Algebra. When asked what inspired her to become a teacher, she shared that as a student, she experienced both success and struggles in the classroom, and teachers often made the difference. The connections she had with them inspired her to pursue teaching. This year, she’s most excited about getting to know her students and helping them grow both academically and personally into successful young men and women. Her favorite classroom motto is “Math is not a spectator sport. The only way to learn math is to do math.” When she’s not teaching, you might find her spending time with her husband and their five sons (two of whom are the same age as her students!). We’re so glad to have Mrs. Kline on our team this year—welcome aboard!

Welcome STEM/6th Grade Social Studies teacher Jesse Bolek!
Say hello to Jesse Bolek, our new STEM and 6th Grade Social Studies teacher! Jesse studied Math and Social Studies Education at the University of Akron. His goal as an educator is simple but powerful. He wants to inspire students and encourage them to follow their dreams. One of his favorite sayings captures that perfectly: “The beautiful thing about learning is nobody can take it away from you.” Jesse’s background in football taught him the value of teamwork, something he plans to bring into his teaching every day. Outside of school, students might be surprised to learn he’s a Dallas Cowboys fan (yes, right here in Steelers country!). Welcome to the team, Jesse!

Welcome Art teacher Briston Ramby!
Toronto Jr.-Sr. High is welcoming a new creative spark to the building, Briston Ramby! Inspired by her own middle school art teacher who always encouraged her to follow her passion, Briston is excited to share that same encouragement with her students. Fresh from earning an Art Education degree at West Liberty University, Briston can’t wait to meet everyone and join the Red Knight family. Briston’s teaching motto? “Never give up and just try your best!” Whether that’s in the art room, the kitchen (Briston loves to bake), or while learning something totally new. When she’s not teaching or creating, Briston dreams of traveling (Japan is at the top of the list) but any place with a rich culture to explore is fair game. Welcome to Toronto Schools, Briston. We can’t wait to see what you create with our students!

Welcome ELA teacher Jara Madzia!
Meet Jara Madzia, our new English Language Arts teacher from Hopedale, Ohio! Teaching is practically in her DNA—her dad started as an 8th grade English teacher and is now a principal, inspiring Jara to follow in his footsteps. Along the way, she’s been shaped by incredible teachers of her own, and she’s excited to pass that same inspiration on to her students. A proud Kent State University graduate, Jara earned her degree in Integrated Language Arts (7–12). This school year, she’s most looking forward to diving into a brand-new environment, meeting fellow educators, and connecting with her students. Her teaching motto? “Go the extra mile—it’s never crowded.” Welcome to the team, Jara! We’re thrilled to have you in Toronto.

The T.H.S. Positive Behavior Intervention and Support (PBIS) team is encouraging strong character and positive behavior by focusing on a different trait each month. Students who best demonstrate traits like courtesy, respect, kindness, and responsibility are recognized and celebrated. In addition, T.H.S. is using the 7 Mindsets curriculum, which teaches that success comes from how we think and not just what we know. The program helps students shift their perspectives to build motivation, resilience, and purpose. The seven core mindsets include: • Everything is Possible – Dream big and believe in your goals. • Passion First – Discover what you love and align it with your future. • We Are Connected – Build positive relationships and work together. • 100% Accountable – Take ownership of your actions and future. • Attitude of Gratitude – Focus on the good and practice thankfulness. • Live to Give – Make a difference through service and kindness. • The Time Is Now – Take action and live with purpose. Together, PBIS and the 7 Mindsets are creating a positive, empowering school culture at THS.

Please join us in congratulating Mr. Eric Meek and Mrs. Dana Kinsey on their well-deserved retirements from Toronto Jr.-Sr. High School! Mr. Meek is retiring after 32 years of dedicated service in education, and Mrs. Kinsey after an amazing 33 years—both leaving behind a legacy of excellence, compassion, and commitment to their students and colleagues. Their impact has been felt far beyond the classroom walls. Whether it was in a lesson, a conversation, or a moment of encouragement, they have touched countless lives and helped shape the future of our community. We are incredibly grateful for their years of service and wish them all the best in this exciting new chapter of life. Once a Red Knight, always a Red Knight!
