Welcome Math teacher Racheal Kline!
We’re excited to welcome Racheal Kline to our math department this year! A graduate of Franciscan University of Steubenville, Mrs. Kline holds a BS in Education with concentrations in Grades 4–9 Math and Science, and K–12 Reading. Mrs. Kline comes to us from Wellsville Local Schools, where she taught Junior High Math and Algebra. When asked what inspired her to become a teacher, she shared that as a student, she experienced both success and struggles in the classroom, and teachers often made the difference. The connections she had with them inspired her to pursue teaching. This year, she’s most excited about getting to know her students and helping them grow both academically and personally into successful young men and women. Her favorite classroom motto is “Math is not a spectator sport. The only way to learn math is to do math.” When she’s not teaching, you might find her spending time with her husband and their five sons (two of whom are the same age as her students!). We’re so glad to have Mrs. Kline on our team this year—welcome aboard!

Welcome STEM/6th Grade Social Studies teacher Jesse Bolek!
Say hello to Jesse Bolek, our new STEM and 6th Grade Social Studies teacher! Jesse studied Math and Social Studies Education at the University of Akron. His goal as an educator is simple but powerful. He wants to inspire students and encourage them to follow their dreams. One of his favorite sayings captures that perfectly: “The beautiful thing about learning is nobody can take it away from you.” Jesse’s background in football taught him the value of teamwork, something he plans to bring into his teaching every day. Outside of school, students might be surprised to learn he’s a Dallas Cowboys fan (yes, right here in Steelers country!). Welcome to the team, Jesse!

Welcome Art/STEM teacher Grace Huddlestun!
Meet Grace Huddlestun, our new Art and STEM teacher, joining us from Wellsville, Ohio! Grace’s passion for teaching began way back in kindergarten when her teacher told the class they could be anything they set their minds to. That message stuck, and now Grace is here to inspire her own students to dream big, believe in themselves, and embrace their creativity. A graduate of Kent State Salem University in Early Childhood Education, Grace is excited to dive into a year full of art projects, STEM experiments, and plenty of imagination. When she’s not in the classroom, Grace loves crafting, baking sweets, and spending time with her dog, Bean. Welcome to Toronto Elementary, Grace. Your students are lucky to have such a creative and encouraging guide this year!

Welcome Art teacher Briston Ramby!
Toronto Jr.-Sr. High is welcoming a new creative spark to the building, Briston Ramby! Inspired by her own middle school art teacher who always encouraged her to follow her passion, Briston is excited to share that same encouragement with her students. Fresh from earning an Art Education degree at West Liberty University, Briston can’t wait to meet everyone and join the Red Knight family. Briston’s teaching motto? “Never give up and just try your best!” Whether that’s in the art room, the kitchen (Briston loves to bake), or while learning something totally new. When she’s not teaching or creating, Briston dreams of traveling (Japan is at the top of the list) but any place with a rich culture to explore is fair game. Welcome to Toronto Schools, Briston. We can’t wait to see what you create with our students!

Welcome ELA teacher Jara Madzia!
Meet Jara Madzia, our new English Language Arts teacher from Hopedale, Ohio! Teaching is practically in her DNA—her dad started as an 8th grade English teacher and is now a principal, inspiring Jara to follow in his footsteps. Along the way, she’s been shaped by incredible teachers of her own, and she’s excited to pass that same inspiration on to her students. A proud Kent State University graduate, Jara earned her degree in Integrated Language Arts (7–12). This school year, she’s most looking forward to diving into a brand-new environment, meeting fellow educators, and connecting with her students. Welcome Kindergarten teacher Lexus Ferguson!
Meet Lexus Ferguson, our newest kindergarten teacher, joining us all the way from Cadiz, Ohio! A proud graduate of Kent State University, Lexus majored in Early Childhood Education with a minor in Mild to Moderate Special Education. Her passion for teaching comes from a love of helping children learn, grow, and discover their potential. Lexus is eager to meet her students and families, connect with fellow staff, and create a warm, welcoming classroom where little learners can thrive. She’s also jumping right into school spirit as an assistant coach for the high school volleyball team. When she’s not teaching, Lexus loves cooking up new recipes she finds on social media, spending time on her family’s farm raising beef cattle, and hanging out with her little brother, who just happens to be starting kindergarten himself. Welcome to the Toronto, Lexus. We know it’s going to be a great year!

Welcome Chemistry & Physics teacher Robin Lewis!
Prepared with degrees in Chemistry, Physics, and Math from Rutgers and Stony Brook Universities, Robin Lewis brings both expertise and enthusiasm to the world of science education. A proud native of West Virginia, she’s on a mission to inspire students to reach for the stars and explore fulfilling careers in science. This school year, she’s already counting down to her favorite astronomical event: the March 3, 2026 Lunar Eclipse. Her classroom motto, “We are all made of stars,” isn’t just poetic; it’s pure science. When she’s not in the classroom, Robin can often be found spotting four-leaf clovers with uncanny accuracy or putting the pedal to the metal as an ambulance driver at a racetrack. Her dream getaway is the sunny British Virgin Islands, and if she could instantly master any skill, it would be carpentry.

School Resource Officer Greg Mamula organized the Cops & Bobbers field trip for 7th and 8th grades students at Toronto Jr.-Sr. High School. The primary purpose of Cops & Bobbers is to encourage positive relationships between law enforcement and youth through fishing. The event was held on Tuesday, May 27 at Renegade Ridge in Bloomingdale, Ohio. Police officers from the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Department, Ohio Wildlife Office, and THS teachers participated in the event. The Ohio State Patrol was originally scheduled to attend but were called away to respond to an accident. The Unionport EMS was on hand to provide medical services if needed. Thank you to Officer Mamula and all of the local law enforcement officers and teachers for making this a special day for our students!
