Our 3rd–5th grade artists became texture explorers as they created stunning watercolor paintings using salt and glue techniques. They watched their colors blend, spread, and sparkle, making every artwork completely one-of-a-kind just like true designers!
Our K–2 students shared the love after a special Valentine’s Day story by creating their “You Warm My Heart” crafts. They practiced cutting, gluing, and arranging shapes while discovering warm colors and creative expression. The room was filled with kindness, creativity, and lots of happy hearts!

Smiles, laughter, and hands-on learning made this experiment extra sweet and the best part was enjoying the tasty results they created themselves!

I want to make you aware of a serious incident that took place today involving one of our school buses. An adult entered the bus while students were on board and confronted the driver in a loud and aggressive manner. Thankfully, no students were physically harmed. However, the situation created an unsafe environment and caused unnecessary disruption.
In the State of Ohio, it is against the law for an unauthorized person to board a school bus. The Ohio Revised Code prohibits interfering with the operation of a school bus or distracting a driver while students are being transported. A bus driver’s attention must remain on the road at all times. Any confrontation or distraction can put children in danger.
Let me be clear: entering a school bus without permission is illegal and will not be tolerated. We are addressing this matter in coordination with local law enforcement.
We understand that concerns may arise from time to time regarding transportation. If you have a question or issue, we encourage you to contact the Transportation Office directly. You may also reach out to your child’s building principal. We are committed to listening and responding appropriately.
Approaching or boarding a bus is not the correct way to resolve a concern. Our bus drivers work hard each day to safely transport students. They deserve a safe work environment and the support of the community.
Thank you for your cooperation and your continued partnership in keeping our students safe.
Sincerely,
Maureen Taggart
Superintendent
We would also like to extend a sincere thank you to Mr. Patrick Carbon from Belmont College for taking the time to speak with our students today regarding their intent to graduate. His guidance and support help ensure our seniors understand the next steps in completing their degrees and feel confident as they move toward this incredible milestone.
This accomplishment reflects countless hours of hard work from our students, the unwavering support of their families, and the strong partnership between our school and Belmont College. Please join us in congratulating these amazing seniors on this outstanding achievement. The future is bright! 💜

School Board Approves 2026-2027 District Calendar
The Board of Education has officially approved the 2026-2027 district calendar for next school year. The calendar reflects a continued focus on student learning, balance instructional time, and flexible opportunities to meet student needs. The 2026-2027 school year will kick off with the annual Back to School Bash on Monday, August 17, 2026 from 5:00-7:00 p.m. on the school campus. This event gives families the chance to reconnect, meet staff, and start the school year on a positive note. The first day of school for students in grades 1-12 will be Wednesday, August 19., 2026 . A key feature of the approved calendar is the inclusion of a Maymester from May 10th through May 26. Rather than ending the academic year abruptly, the Maymester will create dedicated time for enrichment, acceleration, and targeted intervention. The period will allow the district to respond to student needs in a more intentional and flexible way. The Maymester is currently in development but it may include credit recovery, course completion support, targeted math and literacy intervention, service-based learning, ACT/SAT preparation, project-based learning experiences, STEM enrichment, community-based projects, and arts-based intensives such as music or visual arts.
